Most recipe card templates give you two boxes: a list of ingredients and a block of instructions. This one is different. Ingredients run down the left, each step is a cell to the right that merges everything it touches, and the last step spans the whole card. You can read the entire recipe in one look — and it fits on a 5×7 card.

A standard card separates ingredients from method, so while cooking you keep jumping between the two: how much flour was it, and when does it go in? The grid answers both questions in the same cell. It is also honest about complexity — a fussy recipe looks fussy, a simple one fits in a postcard — and it is what survives being taped inside a cupboard door.
